The next academic year starts with a popular freshman class at the Faculty of Pharmacy

In September 2025, 31 first-year pharmacy students have started their studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the framework of the English language training.

Due to the marketability of the pharmacy profession, there is a great interest in pharmacy education worldwide, which is strongly felt in the case of the Faculty of Pharmacy. In recent years, the number of international applicants to the Faculty has been increasing. The composition of students in foreign language courses is very diverse, with many coming to Szeged from outside Europe. Some of the English language courses are also open to Hungarian students, which offers a unique opportunity for professional language development.

Furthermore, a new training will also start later this semester (with 13 students), the so called Foundation Year (or Preparatory Course for Pharmacy Training). This program is tailored for student who feel their english is not yet enough for the full fledged pharmacy education and want to build a solid base. Participants get help reviewing the English Language, followed by subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. Studing hard during the eight-month course can pay off as participants have a high chance of being admitted automatically to our pharmacy program in the upcoming academic year.
