The ranking, compiled by one of the world's largest scientific publishing companies, includes several active professors and researchers of the University of Szeged, including 6 members of our Faculty.
The citation metrics are widely used to rank researchers and at the same time in some cases are misleadingly used. Elsevier has created a publicly available database of the most cited researchers, which provides standardised information on citations and indicators used in ranking. Metrics are shown separately for career-long and for the most recent year, with and without self-citations, and with the ratio of citations to cited articles. Scientists are classified into 22 disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines according to the standardised classification of the Science-Metrix. Elsevier's original news is available at the following link and the full list without modifications is available at the following link. Alternatively, the list of staff members of our university and our faculty can be downloaded here.
Congratulations to our colleagues Prof. Dr. Attila Hunyadi, Prof. Dr. Judit Hohmann, Prof. Dr. Dezső Csupor, Dr. Andrea Vasas, Prof. Dr. Ildikó Csóka and Prof. Dr. Rita Ambrus for their achievements.
It should be noted, however, that Elsevier has published this using its own database for tracking researchers (Scopus), which, although increasingly widely used by researchers, is not yet fully used and curated. As a consequence, there may be discrepancies between the data presented and the actual figures.
