Pictures of an exhibition - Elika Valehi, excellent in art and pharmacy

Hidden talents are among us. We visited Elika's, a fifth-year pharmacy student from Iran, exhibition at the University of Szeged Klebelsberg Library. Let's introduce her from a different perspective.

Elika Valehi's interest in painting commenced in her early childhood. As a youngster, she spent countless hours immersed in her imaginative world, capturing the beauty she perceived in the simplest things. Painting became her sanctuary, a realm where she could express herself freely and unhindered. She is passionate about exploring various styles, including modernism, realism, abstract, and pop art. Additionally, she works with different techniques such as watercolour, oil painting, acrylic, charcoal, and pencil.

Her favourite topics often revolve around nature and its intricate relationship with humanity. Moreover, she is drawn to the emotions and experiences that shape the human condition, exploring themes of love, loss, resilience and self-discovery. While she draws inspiration from various artists who have left an indelible mark on the art world, her the ultimate ideal is the late Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh's masterpieces embody a raw and emotive quality that resonates with her deeply. His unique style, characterized by bold brushwork and expressive use of colour, evokes intense emotions and captures the essence of his subjects.

Elika's motivation for painting stems from a deep desire to connect with others profoundly. She believes art can transcend barriers and touch the soul, invoking a range of emotions and thoughts within the viewer. By weaving her experiences, perceptions, and observations into her artwork, she aspires to evoke a sense of familiarity and a shared understanding of the human experience. Creating and sharing her art becomes a form of communication, a silent dialogue bridging the gap between different individuals and cultures.

When she immerses herself in painting, she experiences a profound sense of liberation. The limitations of the world around her fade away, and she finds herself transported to a realm of pure creativity and self-discovery. With each brushstroke, she feels she is channelling her emotions, memories, and dreams onto the canvas before her. It becomes a transcendental experience, enabling her to express herself uniquely and profoundly.

Let's take a look at some of her masterpieces. More can be expected at her next exhibition.
